Break in at Kildare GAA offices

July 22, 2011
It was believed that a quantity of tickets for tomorrow's All-Ireland SFC fourth round qualifier double-header at Croke Park were stolen during a raid on the Hawkfield training centre and offices outside Newbridge last night, but Kildare have denied this.

The Leinster Leader reported that thieves caused a considerable amount of damage to the offices. They broke in through a ground floor window and also damaged internal doors at the property.

However, Gardai have since recovered three laptops and some gym equipment that were taken during the robbery. Gardai are also in the process of downloading CCTV footage of the raid which should help with their investigation.

It had originally been thought that tickets for the double header at Croke Park had been taken, but it is believed that blank stubs, on which tickets would then be printed, were instead stolen.
