Mayo suffer Cafferkey blow

Mayo's Ger Cafferkey
Ger Cafferkey is the latest Mayo player to be ruled out of Sunday's Connacht SFC opener against London in Ruislip.

The full back suffered a hamstring injury last week and won't be risked in a game Mayo are expected to win comfortably. Corner forward Enda Varley also missed training at the weekend, but is expected to be fit for the trip to the English capital.

Mayo manager James Horan is also planning without dual star Keith Higgins (knee) and midfielder Ronan McGarrity (Achilles tendon).

While London boss Paul Coggins has recruited former Galway senior Mark Gottsche and 2008 Kerry All-Ireland U21 winner Mike Moloney this season, he has also lost a number of regulars from recent campaigns, including Galway native Eamon O Cuiv.
