New York look to Tasker

April 28, 2011

Armagh's Peter Carragher and Robbie Tasker celebrate victory over Mayo in the 2009 ESB All-Ireland MFC final.
Former Armagh All-Ireland winning minor forward Robbie Tasker is expected to feature for New York in Sunday's Connacht SFC first round clash against Roscommon at Gaelic Park.

A key member of Armagh's 2009 Tom Markham Cup winning side, Tasker has the ability to cause problems for the defending champions' defence, which looked far from convincing in last Saturday's NFL Division 4 defeat to Longford.

Another former Armagh underage star, Stephen Harold, is set to line out at midfield for the Exiles, while Ronan McGinley - brother of Tyrone's treble All-Ireland winner Enda - is also in the New York ranks.

Ex-Kerry minor Dan Doona, who has been a regular for New York in recent years, is on board once again, while former Wexford midfielder Rory Stafford may start at full back.

Both New York and Roscommon have yet to announce their line-ups for Sunday's game in the North Bronx.
