Ladies football: All-Ireland glory for Scoil Mhuire

Scoil Mhuire, Longford were crowned All-Ireland ladies football Post-Primary Schools Junior champions following a comfortable victory over Glenamaddy Community School at the Glenamaddy GAA grounds yesterday.

With Aoife Darcy and Aisling Reynolds to the fore, the Longford girls raced into a five-point lead inside the first seven minutes. Elaine Murphy extended their lead with a brace of goals in the lead up to half-time before Darcy put the result beyond doubt with a penalty in the second half.
