Crokes sweating on Vaughan

Kilmacud's Mark Davoran and Mark Vaughan
Mark Vaughan is struggling to be fit for Kilmacud Crokes' Dublin SFC semi-final against either Ballyboden St. Enda's or St. Vincent's on Sunday week.
The former Dublin ace has been troubled by a hamstring injury for the past month and is a major doubt for the clash with holders Ballyboden or Vincent's, who will replay their quarter-final next Wednesday.
Crokes manager Paddy Carr is also sweating on the fitness of county star Kevin Nolan, who has been hampered by a back complaint. He started against Na Fianna last weekend, only to be replaced midway through the second half.
Carr, who has been linked to the vacant Meath manager's job, said: "Mark Vaughan has a long-term hamstring problem. It's still unclear when he will be right - he hasn't come back to proper training. It's a race against time to see if he will be fit to play any part in that game.
"Mark is not definitely out, but he didn't play against St Maur's, Sylvester's or Na Fianna - he has been out for the last five or six weeks."
The 2009 All-Ireland club champions have had a wretched year with injuries so far with cruciate ligament victims Paul Griffin and Mark Davoren, and Darren Magee (broken leg) expected to remain out of action until the New Year.
