Lenihan: O'Grady appointment is 'uplifting'

September 24, 2010
Limerick chairman Liam Lenihan has described Donal O'Grady's appointment as the county's new hurling manager as 'uplifting'.

Lenihan believes the former Cork All-Ireland winning manager's appointment can herald a new era for the Shannonsiders after one of the darkest chapters in the county's history.

"We are delighted that a man of O'Grady's experience and record in managing teams has come to Limerick," he said.

"We have had our problems in the last year or more. But Donal's agreement to come in and take charge of the team is greatly uplifting for everyone, not least the players.

"Unfortunately, a number of our top players decided they would no long give a commitment to the Limerick team in the past year. But Donal has already made it clear that each and every one of those players will be considered with the panel."
