Fitz' expects Cats to make history

Waterford hurling manager Davy Fitzgerald
Waterford boss Davy Fitzgerald is expecting Kilkenny to complete the five-in-a-row on Sunday.

Tipp were impressive winners over the Deise in the All-Ireland semi-final, but he doesn't think they will be able to stop the 'Drive for Five' this weekend.

"I can't help thinking this is going to be a weekend where history is made and I find it hard to see Kilkenny being stopped in their quest for five-in-a-row," he wrote in the Irish Daily Star.

"I am expecting a very hard, tough, tactical game and I think Kilkenny are going to have to rise to the heights of last year, but they are well capable of it. I can't see anything other than a Kilkenny win."

Fitzgerald believes Brian Cody should start Henry Shefflin if he's fit.

"The fact Henry Shefflin can line out is nearly a miracle, even if it is only for 15 minutes, and a great boost as he is the man that makes them tick," he added.

"I'd be surprised if Shefflin lasts the full game, but it'd be a serious lift if Brian Cody decides to throw him in at some stage. If Shefflin is fit, I'd start him as it could cost you two subs if you bring him in and he breaks down.

"I'm delighted he'll have a chance to line out and Tipp wouldn't want it any other way."
