Hogan only Cat ruled out

Kilkenny's Brian Hogan
Brian Hogan is the only definite absentee from the Kilkenny squad for Sunday's All-Ireland hurling final.

Manager Brian Cody will announce his starting XV tomorrow night and centre back Hogan, who suffered a broken finger in training last week, is the only player who won't be considered for selection.

Henry Shefflin and John Tennyson, who have both made miraculous recoveries from cruciate ligament injuries, have had no negative reaction to training. However, it remains to be seen if they are named in the starting line-up or used as substitutes.

Shefflin is expected to start, while Tennyson is battling it out with James Ryall and PJ Delaney for the number six jersey vacated by Hogan.

As recently as last week, Shefflin, Tennyson and Tommy Walsh were in danger of missing the final, but all three look set to feature now.
