King set for Breffni selector role

New Cavan selector Stephen King
Former Cavan captain Stephen King is set to been appointed to the county's new management backroom team in a role as selector.

Joint-manager Val Andrews confirmed at the weekend that King, who was the last Breffni skipper to lead the county to an Ulster SFC title back in 1997, will join both him and Terry Hyland as they bid to steer the team forward in 2011.

In the past King has been involved in club management with Belturbet and his native Killeshandra - enjoying a junior double success with the latter in 2007 - and this year managed intermediate outfit Ballymachugh, who exited the championship at the group stages last month.

The appointment is set to be made official at the next meeting of the Cavan county board.
