The Kilkenny County Board are to press ahead with the next phase of redevelopment work at Nowlan Park in the near future.

When the next phase is finished, the capacity of the grounds will be in excess of 18,000 and the work is set to be carried out between the new stand and the Paddy Grace stand.

A further 1,000 seats will be fitted into the grounds and it will enhance Nowlan Park's reputation as a major sporting venue.

Builders are currently completing work on the new Ted Carroll stand and the decision to go ahead with the next phase is set to be taken in the coming weeks.
