Kildare's Anthony Rainbow
Kildare boss Kieran McGeeney has made several changes in personnel as well as positional switches from the defeat to Armagh last weekend for Sunday's game against Westmeath at Newbridge.
There are two changes to the half-back line which see Morgan O'Flaherty and Brian Flanagan come in at right half-back and centre-back, respectively.
Confey's Hugh Lynch partners Daryl Flynn at centre-field in place of the injured Dermot Early, while veteran Anthony Rainbow comes in at centre-forward for Padraig O'Neill, who has also been ruled out of the Lake County's visit through illness.
Elsewhere up front, Robert Kelly is named at right half-forward with Johnny Doyle being moved up to left corner-forward and James Kavanagh dropping to the bench.
Kildare (NFL v Westmeath): P Flood; H McGrillen, D Hendy, E Bolton; M O'Flaherty, B Flanagan, M Scanlon; D Flynn, H Lynch; R Kelly, A Rainbow, D Whyte; E O'Callaghan, K Ennis, J Doyle.
