Munster U21FC: Joyce-Power goal enough for Treaty

March 11, 2010
Limerick 1-10
Clare 0-10

A goal from Cormac Joyce-Power ten minutes from time proved the difference as Limerick edged out Clare to seal their place into the semi-finals of the Cadbury Munster Under 21 Football Championship.

The game, which was moved from the Gaelic Grounds to Cooraclare due to a frozen pitch at the Limerick venue, looked to be going in Clare's favour after the opening 35 minutes when they led by 0-6 to 0-2.

Early points from Eoghan O'Connor and Tony McMahon looked to have gotten Limerick off to the perfect start, before the hosts settled into the game and pierced through for scores by Gary Leahy and Paudge McMahon to level and the duo struck another pair each to send their team four clear at the break.

In the second-half, Limerick would assert their authority on the game as O'Connor struck three points and Joyce-Power rattled the Banner net with ten minutes to go to secure the victory.
