Dublin's Alan McCrabbe
Dublin were breathing a sigh of relief last night after a scan revealed that Alan McCrabbe's leg injury is not as bad as first feared.

The All-Star midfielder was removed by ambulance to Waterford General Hospital after he took a belt across the shin from Waterford's Jamie Nagle which resulted in an 11-minute stoppage during yesterday's NHL clash at Walsh Park.

A scan showed that the Craobh Chiarian clubman sustained no broken bones, but he suffered bad bruising and is on crutches. However, he could yet line out against Tipperary in Parnell Park next Sunday when the Dubs will attempt to bounce back from yesterday's 0-12 to 4-13 drubbing.

Speaking immediately after the game, Dublin manager Anthony Daly was fearing the worst.

"Alan's injury is a huge blow for us, but of course it's an even greater personal blow for Alan himself," he said.

"We will have to await the results from the hospital, but we are all keeping our fingers tightly crossed for him."
