Gilroy calls for consistency

February 08, 2010

Dublin manager Pat Gilroy
A grounded Pat Gilroy has called on his players to deliver consistent performances.

Far from getting carried away by the Sky Blues' historic victory in Killarney on Sunday, the Dublin manager pointed out that a league win in February will count for nothing at the end of the year.

Thus, he's asking his players to focus on their performances and to seek consistency in their play:

"I don't think the results really matter. At this time of year, it's about seeing young guys and how they acquit themselves.

"We worked hard and are happy with the win but, at the end of the day, it's a February league match, no more and no less.

"There's no point in doing this and then going out and playing brutal. We've got to find consistent performances."
