McDermott wants more

27 November 2009

Kilmurry-Ibrickane manager Michael McDermott admits that reaching two Munster provincial finals in succession means little until they taste success.

Last year, the Clare champions lost out in the final, but they have the opportunity to make amends this year and on Sunday week face Kerry representatives Kerins O'Rahillys in the decider.

McDermott, who has taken on the role as Clare senior football manager acknowledges the fact that reaching the final two years in succession is a remarkable achievement, but will count for little if they don't win.

"It's brilliant for a club in west Clare to go to a Munster final two years in succession. That is some achievement for any club in the country, but it's no use in getting there," said McDermott.

"We were there last year and came away with real heartache and it hurt me for a long time after that day. This time we want to win it."
