Fitzgerald in fitness battle

| Corofin and Galway star Kieran Fitzgerald |
10 November 2009Corofin's All-Star defender Kieran Fitzgerald remains a major doubt for Sunday week's Connacht club football final against Charlestown.
The county star missed last Sunday's 2-13 to 0-9 semi-final victory over Glencar/Manorhamilton with a hamstring injury, and is facing a race against time to be fit for the provincial decider.
But Corofin manager Gerry Keane is confident that leading scorer Alan O'Dovovan, who also missed the win over the Leitrim champions, will be back.
He said: "It would be great to have the two lads back as we will face a very tough challenge from Charlestown.
"I reckon Alan has a good chance of recovering, but this game could be coming too soon for Kieran. He will do everything he can to play, but it's a long shot."
