Donegal's Karl Lacey and John Mullane of Waterford have been named as the Opel GPA Players of the Month for July in football and hurling respectively. The awards recognise the outstanding contribution both players made to their county's performances in the championship throughout July. Lacey returned from an extended break in Australia to play a starring role in Donegal's march to the All-Ireland football quarter-finals, while Mullane scored the crucial winning point in Waterford's dramatic All-Ireland hurling quarter-final win over Galway.
