Murphy fears AFL exit

Former Carlow minor star Brendan Murphy
Brendan Murphy believes he could be back playing Gaelic football with Rathvilly and Carlow next year if he doesn't prove himself in Aussie Rules in the next three months.
The 20-year-old has been provisionally offered an extension to his AFL contract by the Sydney Swans, but after his first two years with the club were blighted by injury, he reckons he will need to make an impression sooner rather than later if he is to stay in the AFL.
"I'm disappointed that I haven't made my senior debut yet, although I know I've had a few injuries in my time over here, that's no excuse really," he said.
"When I was fit, and up and running, I really should have made more of my chances. I honesty thought I would have played a game by now. I've got three months left so time is running out for me.
"The time remaining will determine whether I'm back playing Gaelic football next year or not. The club could change their minds about offering me an extended contract next year.
"They could let me go to bring in another young player."
