Ulster MFC: Down minors claim semi spot

Down 1-11 Cavan 2-7 Down produced a spirited late fightback to claim victory over their Cavan counterparts in Saturday's ESB Ulster Minor Foootball Championship encounter at the Athletic Grounds. The Mournemen led by six at the break (1-6 to 0-3) having taken full advantage of a strong breeze. Cavan rallied on the turnaround, with PP O'Hara grabbing two goals to send the Breffni youngsters into the lead for the first time. However, Down were not to be denied and hit two points without reply in the final two minutes, with Ross McGarry levelling before Mark Bagnall raised a white flag to claim victory for Mark Turley's side.
