Cleary praises never-say-die Rebels

Cork U21 manager John Cleary
Cork under 21 football manager John Cleary hailed his side's never-say-die attitude after yesterday's dramatic Cadbury All-Ireland final victory over Down. A last-gasp Colm O'Driscoll goal saw the Rebels snatch victory from the jaws of defeat, just as they had done in their Munster final win over Tipperary last month. "We never thought it was gone," a delighted and relieved Cleary said. "All year we had been battling like that and I knew we'd get another chance. Our inside line had been on top all day. "I knew we'd get one chance, whether we would be able to take it or not was something else. It's always a fantastic feeling to win, but to win with a last-minute goal is something else." The former county star added: "I suppose this season has taught us some things. We won three games by a point and they were probably all won in the last minute and that was done again today. "We'll take it because other days, it will go against you, so we are absolutely thrilled."
