March 19, 2009
Tyrone recovered from a disastrous start to overcome Antrim in an ill-tempered Cadbury Ulster under 21 football championship quarter-final at Healy Park last night.

Both teams finished with 13 players after the Red Hands had turned in a dominant second half performance. A shock looked to be on the cards when a Conor Murray goal, and points from Niall McKeever, Justin Crozier and CJ McGourty (two 45s), helped the visitors to a 1-4 to 0-0 lead after just seven minutes.
But they failed to build on their excellent start as Tyrone eventually got to grips with the game. Antrim defender Mark McAleese and Tyrone forward Gareth Devlin received red cards and the Red Hands got motoring with a 17th minute goal from Shane Mulgrew. Further scores from Jason McAnulla, Emmet McKenna and Mulgrew saw them regain parity at half-time on 1-6 each.
The home side got in for a second goal five minutes after the restart when Emmet McKenna pounced, but they were then reduced to 13 players when Michael Gallagher was sent off. Niall McKeever also saw red for the Saffrons in the 50th minute, and Tyrone secured their place in the last four with a third goal from substitute Colin Harkin three minutes from the end.
