End of season in sight for Cooley, Dundalk Gaels, Annaghminnon and Fechins

November 27, 2008
After ten hard months of training, winning, losing, injuries, good weather and bad weather, Cooley Kickhams, Dundalk Gaels, Annaghminnon Rovers and St. Fechins can finally draw a close on their seasons this Sunday afternoon in Darver.   Cooley play Dundalk Gaels in the 4A League final at 3.30pm in Darver. The Gaels will be looking to win some silverware this year after they held their own at Senior level in both the Senior League and Championship, in reaching this final they knocked out last years 4A winners the Newtown Blues in the semi-final on Sunday last. While Cooley will be looking to achieve a Senior, Junior league double after they captured the Cardinal O'Donnell cup fours weeks ago.   In the 4C League final Annaghminnon Rovers play St Fechins at 2pm also in Darver. This will be the Rovers first final appearance in a final at any grade since 2000 when they lifted the Christy Bellew cup after they defeated Glen Emmets in the Junior Championship. Remarkably the Fechins have to go back to the late 90's since their last success at any level. Although they have contested a final already this year losing the, Junior 2B Championship decider against the Wolfe Tones.
