Carlow manager Luke Dempsey has met the current senior squad and outlined his plans for the coming year, as he prepares a couple of trial matches before Christmas. The former Westmeath and Longford manager was pleased with the response from the meeting, which was well attended as the new boss introduced his backroom staff for the coming year. Dempsey has the task of enticing some players back into the squad, especially the Palatine contingent, but he is hopeful that he will be able to do so. "I was happy with the turnout from the first selection," said Dempsey. "We will be approaching players for the next few weeks to see if they will come in. I'd be hoping to get a good response out there because we're trying to improve Carlow football." Tweet
