St Peregrine's GAA Club Notes

November 27, 2008
Congratulations and best wishes to the incoming Executive Committee for next year, an extremely important one for the continued development of the club: Chairman, Paul Harte; Vice Chairman, Tom Kitt; Secretary, Frank Henry; Treasurer, Colin McEvoy; Assistant Secretary, Paul Beecher; Assistant Treasurer, Louise McSherry; Registrar, Anthony, McAnaw; and PRO, Ray Smyth. Sincere thanks to the outgoing Executive Committee members who were not re-elected: Arthur McLAughlin, Roger Waters and outgoing Treasurer Mick McCarthy, for their commitment, dedication, expertise, wisdom, and especially time, which they unselfishly gave to the continued development of the club. Thanks also for the trojan work they carried out over a number of years on the Executive Committee which were marked by the construction and completion of the sports hall and stand development and the recent completion of the hurling wall. The recent launch of the ?100 ticket club draw in association with Raheens GAC, Co Kildare has been extremely well received and members are showing huge commitment to this highly worthy fundraising venture to meet the shortfall in the cost of developing the juvenile extension to the main pitch and to improve the all-weather pitch. A substantial prize fund of over ?160,000 is on offer, including cars, holidays and cash. Draws take place over five months commencing February 2009. We ask all members for their continued generosity in actively supporting this venture to consolidate the future of the club. The lottery jackpot was not won. Numbers drawn were 7-15-16-22. Jackpot goes up to ?9,800 this Sunday. We wish to convey our sincere thanks to a generous benefactor, who wishes to remain anonymous, for his substantial donation which will be used for the development of camogie and ladies football in the club. Congratulations to Helen Cawley's niece, Adele Hanley, who won an all-star Ladies Football award. A car boot sale will take place in the club car park area on Sunday 4 January from 10am till 1pm. General admission is free, however cars and vans will be charged ?5 and ?7 respectively for a sales pitch. A limited number of tables are available for hire at ?10 each. Breakfast is available. For any information about the club, which is located in Clonsilla, Dublin 15, please contact the clubhouse at 01-8223269.
