Scotstown club notes
November 26, 2008
U15s: In a lively contest our U15s won the Eamon Mc Elroy Cup where they beat Pomeroy (Tyrone) on Friday last. Under the floodlights in Emyvale, the game itself was very competitive with the sides on level terms on five different occasions. Elliot Maguire got Scotstown off the mark with a goal on two minutes but by the 15th minute the sides were level at 1-2 each. Both teams exchanged scores as half time approach and in the end they shared the spoils at 1-4 a piece going into the break. Pomeroy started the 2nd half with a point, Scotstown level matters on 5mins (1-5). Then Pomeroy went three points up well into 2nd half but Scotstown replied with three unanswered points to level the match at 1-8 each. Scotstown worked hard to engineer a goal, which they got in the closing minutes through Elliot Maguire, his second goal on the night. Our U15s held on to win by two points on a final score of 2-8 to 1-9.
