The Friends of Carlow GAA have rowed in behind the Carlow hurlers once again. The Friends are main sponsors for Thursday nights who wants to be a Thousandaire.
The event is the major fundraiser for Carlow's Christy Ring Cup winners holiday fund. The friends of Carlow GAA are delighted once again to back the county's hurlers having contributed significantly to the hurling war chest earlier this year.
The hurlers plan a trip to New York, one friend of Carlow GAA suggested that the trip to the Big Apple might encourage winning it (the Christy Ring cup) twice.
2008 was one hell of year for Barrow side hurlers and lets hope 2009 can be even better.
