Duignan backs Daly

November 23, 2008
RTE analyst Michael Duignan has backed his former work colleague Anthony Daly to be a huge success as manager of the Dublin hurling team. Daly will be formally ratified as Dublin manager on Monday night and Duignan, who played against the former Clare hurler admits that he has got to know him quite well through their work together for RTE and the ex-Offaly hurler is in no doubt that Daly is the man for the job. It's a fantastic appointment for Dublin hurling," said Duignan. "I've got to know him well and he has a great passion for hurling and a brilliant knowledge for the game. He is a high profile appointment, but a big name doesn't mean things will happen automatically. "The hard work from the players still needs to be put in. Daly will have the respect of the players of everyone in Dublin hurling, he will get everyone together and get them to believe."
