Division 4 Leagues to take centre stage
November 13, 2008
With the Senior leagues coming to a close for this season, it will be the Division 4 leagues taking centre stage over the next few weeks.
In the Division 4 leagues the top four teams in each league at the end of the season qualify for a playoff, this playoff consists of two semi-finals, with the winners of both semi-finals playing each other in the final, with the eventual winners being promoted.
This years 4A league it looks like its going to go down to the wire with St Patrick's, Cooley Kickhams, Newtown Blues, Dundalk Gaels and Mattock Rangers all within touching distance of each other.
In the 4B league the four places look likely to go to the Dreadnots, Glen Emmett's, St. Brides and St Josephs. With the mix of experience in Colin Kelly and young talent like Liam Shevlin available, the Dreadnots are favourites for promotion.
The Division 4C looks also to go down to the wire. With the Westerns leading out-right, there looks to be an interesting battle for the three remaining playoff places between Annaghminnon Rovers, St Nicholas, St Fechins and Dundalk Gaels B.
Last year the Newtown Blues, Roche Emmett's and St Mochtas won Divisions 4A, B and C respectively.
