Gallagher makes Fermanagh return

It has emerged that Rory Gallagher has made a return to the Fermanagh senior football panel. According to BBC Sport, the Belleek native was approached by the Fermanagh team management earlier this week and linked up with the squad last night (Wednesday). The St Brigid's clubman still holds the record for the largest scoring tally in a single Ulster Senior Football Championship match, in which he scored 3-9 against Monaghan for the Ernesiders back in 2002. Still only 30, the sharpshooter should provide a major boost to Malachy O'Rourke's side's free-taking troubles, which arguably cost them a first ever senior Ulster Championship title this past summer. Gallagher had quit the Erne setup under Dominic Corrigan, but made a brief return to Charlie Mulgrew's panel in 2005 and has not played on the inter-county scene since his brief stint with Cavan in 2007.
