Wicklow's Leighton Glynn
Wicklow senior hurling champions Glenealy have flown home their dual star Leighton Glynn early from Australia, so as he can take part in their county final replay against Carnew this Saturday. Glynn is set to arrive back in Dublin this morning, after starring in Ireland's International Rules series victory over Australia in both Perth and Melbourne. Glenealy chairman Joe Driver said that the club payed for the earlier flight home for Glynn so as he would have sufficient time to recover, than if he returned home with the Irish squad on Friday. "When we rang him to say we would book a special flight home from Australia, Leighton jumped at the chance. That's the type of player he is, he wants to be in the thick of the action all the time, whether it be football or hurling. He was on the phone from Australia the whole time during the drawn game."
