Knockbridge on Leinster road again

October 31, 2008
Knockbridge travel to Offaly to take on Ballyskenach in the first round of the Leinster junior club hurling championship on Sunday November 2. It's been six weeks since the 'Bridge overcame Pearse Og to clinch a fourth successive Louth SHC, while their opponents have already beaten Gaeil Colmcille of Meath since landing the Offaly IHC. Knockbridge got to the final of this competition two years ago before falling to Danesfort of Kilkenny. But they'll be really up against it at 2.30 on Sunday against a team boasting Faithful County star Brendan Murphy. "We've been trying to keep it going but that's difficult when the championship is over," says selector Aidan Costello. "We've played two league games and a couple of challenges so that has kept us ticking over, but it's difficult to keep lads training at this time of year."
