Donegal's Brendan Devenney
Donegal dynamo Brendan Devenney says he has relished the challenge laid down to him after being made captain of his club team, St. Eunan's, Letterkenny.
Ahead of his side's SFC final meeting with Termon in Ballybofey today (Sunday), Devenney says being captain has made him even more determined to lift the Democrat Cup.
"When I was asked to be captain by our manager, Eamon O'Boyle, I quickly agreed," Devenney explained.
"I always felt the captain should be from one of the senior players or be an ex-county player.
"There is a great squad here and they are just keen to retain that title and that was evident from our very first meeting.
"John Haran is just as inspiring as ever, and we have been functioning pretty well as a unit.
"Nowadays it is a 20-man game and I believe we have a strong bench and that has been crucial in our run to the final this year."
