Leinster Council to give counties fair hearing
October 03, 2008
Leinster Council chiefs have intimated that they will help, as best they can, counties whose club championships are set to run right up until the commencement of the provincial club competition.
To date, Dublin, Wexford, Kildare and Kilkenny (sub-senior grade) have all hinted that they may find it difficult to complete their domestic competitions ahead of the start of the provincial series.
Leinster Council Secretary Michael Delaney says "our ambition is to get counties participating, where at all possible."
Mr. Delaney stressed however that counties are still no longer able to 'nominate' a team to represent the county at provincial level should their championships not be completed in time.
He did add though that because there is two weeks between each scheduled round of the Leinster club competition, Leinster have some possible "wriggle room".
