Robert Emmets Notes
Once again our Div 3 team had no game at the weekend as after travelling to Naomh Colmcille we discovered the were unable to field. This leaves us now without a competitive game for 4 weeks prior to the County Final, not ideal preparation. Lucky enough we had a good challenge game v Glenfin on Thur. Night and we wish to thank Glenfin for facilitating us with this game.
Our monster County Final weekend " Night at the Races" takes place in Lynches Tavern on Fri. 10th. Oct. and preparations are now in full swing. We are appealing to the whole local community to get behind this venture and really give it their full support. Trainers, Jockeys, Owners Etc. are now on sale at ?20 , while races can be sponsored at ?200 each. The atmosphere will be good in the area on that weekend so why not get behind your local team and get the weekend off to a really great start with a successful "Night at the Races"
Club Polo shirts and Replica Jerseys are still available and can be purchased from any Comm. Member. We would welcome offers from ladies who are handy with sewing machines to sew up some Club Flags for the County Final. Names to club officers as soon as possible please. Lets make sure we have plenty of colour on display at the Final.
Our U.14 team put up an excellent performance in the County Semi-Final against Naomh Mhuire in Dunfanaghy at the weekend going down to just a 1 point defeat. This was a great performance from this wee team who have showed great improvement and commitment over the year and are a credit to the club. Although visible devastated at the final whistle the team can take great pride and consolation in their over all performance and if the stick together as a unit no their day will come. Their Mgm. Team under Carl Houston also deserve great credit and praise for their time and commitment with this team over the year.
Congratulations to Sean Mac Cumhaills and Setanta who brought two County championships to the Finn Valley at the weekend. Hopefully this is a trend that will continue on the 12th. Oct.

Fanad Gaels club notes
As of going to press there is uncertainty whether the Senior League fixture v Aodh Rua on Sunday in Ballyshannon pencilled in for 1.00p.m. will now be going ahead. While we appreciate the various difficulties in organising fixtures, with just 2 matches left Gaeil Fh^°nada have been left without football for a number of weeks, hopefully the season will not drag into wintry weather as in other years.
