NAUL'S CLUB NOTES RESERVES Pride of place this week goes to everyone involved in the intermediate reserve championship win over McCumhaills on Sunday last. Congratulations to Shaun, Willie, Tony, Susan, team captain Patrick, the 18 players on the field all of whom contributed handsomely to the win (whether they were on the field for a long or short period of time) and also to all the other panel members who made their contributions over the course of the year. Special mention must be made of our midfield pairing of John Murray and John 'Cookie' Meehan, a partnership dating back to the 1987 intermediate campaign. Their determination not to lose this final was a great example to the younger players and lifted them at vital times throughout the course of the game. We extend thanks to all our supporters who turned out on the day, your support was invaluable. We also extend our thanks to Enda and staff of the Village Tavern for a magnificent after match meal and also to the various sponsors who ensured all players were suitably attired for the occasion. SENIORS The seniors lost a very competitive match away to Killybegs on Saturday evening last and so must win both games against Buncrana to make the play off stages of the league. The first of these double headers is in Buncrana this Saturday evening (see elsewhere for throw in times). The players wish to acknowledge the support received in their recent fund raising efforts based around the score in the All-Ireland final. The prize for correct score was shared between John Kenny and Mary Breslin both of whom went with the 1992 scoreline of 18 points to 14 which corresponded with the correct score of 1 - 15 to 14 points when converted to points. The prize for the time of the first goal was won by Aidan Kennedy who had the correct time of 35th to 36th minute. They extend thanks to all who bought and sold lines. UNDER 14s Commiserations to the under 14s who lost out to Cloughaneely in the county semi-final on Sunday morning last in Glenties.
