Sarsfields will relish neighbourly semi

September 26, 2008
It is likely that the cricket-score victories for Moorefield will be no more in this championship campaign and the champions will face a tough semi-final task when they meet town neighbours and rivals Sarsfields in the semi-final. The Moors are attempting to made it three championships in a row this year, a feat last achieved by the Sash between 1950 and 1952 and the clash presumably next weekend seems a rather exciting prospect. Odds supplied by Cill Dara Betting have Moorefield still installed as firm favourites at 2/7 to take the title this year and achieve that three-in-a-row. There might well be a swell of recessionary money placed on Sarsfields at 4/1 for this semi-final clash with perhaps the jee jees losing out for once. Moorefield are quoted at 1/6 to advance to the final. Sarsfields shook off a very determined Confey side on Saturday last to win by three points while the champions had six to spare in a tough test with Round Towers.
