New Rossies boss is realistic

September 25, 2008
Roscommon manager Fergal O'Donnell has warned long-suffering supporters not to expect too much too soon. The Rossies have hit rock bottom of late and the new boss is being hailed as their Messiah, but the former Roscommon Gaels clubman insists expectations should be realistic: "We're under no illusions. The minor success was a once-in-a-lifetime achievement. Taking on the senior management is a totally different challenge. "I think we're a long way from winning a cup. We would be hoping to win a few matches and that we won't get hammered. "We want to try to be as competitive as we can be. In the games we're not going to win, you'd hope the team would fight to the end and not fall apart."
