New Roscommon football manager Fergal O'Donnell has named Stephen Bohan, Mark Dowd, Declan Hoare and Ross Shannon as his selectors. O'Donnell, who becomes Roscommon's fourth manager this year, was assisted by the same quartet when he guided the county to its first All-Ireland minor title in 51 years in 2006. The Boyle-based garda has agreed to take the reins for an initial two-year term, and county secretary Seamus Maher said the board was "delighted" to finally get their man. "Fergal is a manager of real quality and great character," he said. "Everyone connected with Roscommon football will be hoping for a period of stability following a period of uncertainty and change in recent times. I'm confident Fergal O'Donnell and his backroom team will now proceed to build a good team to get Roscommon back competing at a very competitive level." Tweet
