RGU club notes

September 23, 2008
The Hoops are taking a time to playing under the new floodlights as they again fell to visiting opposition on Friday night. Again it was poor shot selection and missed opportunities that contributed to this defeat, though Warrenpoint on this occasion were deserving victors. Despite being behind for most of the game, thanks mainly to the free taking of Gary Boyle, RGU did manage to get back tom within a point of the Blues with about 10 minutes left, but were unable to drive on from that position and overhaul the lead as the 'Point sent over two more points to seal a three point victory. This defeat leaves the Hoops anchored in the bottom four and now dependant on others to see if they will be involved in relegation play offs, but they can help themselves out of the mire with a total of four games left, two of which are at home. At the time of going to press it looks like Friday will see another home night fixture with Dundrum, though this needs to be confirmed. The Under 8s will end off their season with a trip toNewry Funhouse on 25th October. More details will be announced on Saturday morning. The Lotto jackpot was not won this week. The numbers drawn were 10/14/23/25 with one lucky person getting three correct numbers to claim the £100 prize.
