Ryan might not be able to line out against the Moors
September 19, 2008
Round Towers will certainly look forward to the Kildare senior football championship quarterfinal on Sunday evening (17.45) and the chance to deny Moorefield from the other town of the prospect of a third title in a row.
So far this season Glenn Ryan has made just one appearance for the Kildare town side in which he proved highly influential but an ankle injury might well rule him out of this crucial encounter. However if he does feature at all in the game he is sure to provide very considerable inspiration for his teammates. Any defensive indiscipline by Moorefield is sure to be punished by the accuracy of Liam Ryan's free taking and the black and amber do have a pretty good defence.
Certainly Moorefield have been impressive to date but Round Towers despite a mixed campaign will need little encouragement to up their game against the former Leinster champions. The trio of Maynooth, Athy and Naas did not provide much of a test for the Moors and Sunday's game might well be the first real championship encounter that they have face.
