Armagh hurler seeking 15th championship medal

September 18, 2008
The centre of attention in the GAA world will be on Sunday's All-Ireland football final, but one Armagh club hurler will be trying to write himself into the history books as he looks to claim his 15th senior championship medal. Keady hurler Francie 'Tiny' Fullerton will be hoping to win his 15th championship medal when his side take on rivals Middletown in the county final at Killeavy on Saturday. Keady are defending champions, but were beaten by Saturday's opponents in the 2006 final and a close match is expected this weekend. Fullerton has been ever present in the side and has won the majority of his titles against Middletown. It is unclear whether this is a national record, but it is certainly one in Armagh, even the Crossmaglen boys haven't matched that yet!
