Dempsey instils work ethic

September 18, 2008
Mayo minor manager Ray Dempsey believes that if his charges adapt the right work ethic during Sunday's All-Ireland final against Tyrone, then there is no reason why they can't win. Dempsey has guided Mayo to the All-Ireland final and following an emphatic win over Kerry in the semi final following a replay, hopes are high in the West that the green and reds can lift the title. "Sometimes when you beat a marquee team like Kerry, people blow up the performance. Tyrone only scraped past Monaghan and we only scraped past Monaghan," stressed Dempsey. "Everyone was saying that we were only an average team after the Monaghan game, for what reason I don't know, probably because it's a psychological thing, it being Monaghan. "But those players who played well the last day will have to remember the hard work and concentration that went into getting that performance out of them."
