Derry County Board has handed the task of selecting the county's managers for the forthcoming season to a special committee. The selection committee is due to be composed of internal experts, including former county players and there is a suggestion also that an ex-manager will sit in on the interview processes. The committee is likely to be made up of at least four people and possibly a maximum of five, with at least one player from Derry's 1993 Sam Maguire Cup-winning team on board. 1993 veteran Fergal McCusker and Dr. Eugene Young, ex county player and currently the Ulster Council's Director of Coaching, are understood to have been invited to take their places on the selection team.
