Carr hoping to upset Cats' quadruple bid

Tipperary under 21 boss Declan Carr believes his side can revel in the underdogs' role in Sunday's All-Ireland final against Kilkenny at Croke Park. Kilkenny have already won the All-Ireland senior, minor and intermediate titles and victory on Sunday would complete the clean sweep of the major hurling titles for the Noresiders. "Understandably enough, we are viewed as underdogs, our performances to date would not be good enough to win an All-Ireland, but the important thing is that we have won our two big tests (against Limerick and Clare) the hard way," the 1991 All-Ireland winning captain said. "The games have served us well and we were delighted to win a Munster final. We got to Croke Park under no illusions about our task, and it is a case now of trying to get everything right on the day." Carr insists that Tipp need to show a big improvement on their All-Ireland semi-final display against Derry if they are to come out on top. "We played as good as we had to play, but it was not a test. Yet, it was plain to be seen that we had plenty of room for improvement. We will need to be much sharper in our approach and more incisive in our play in the final," he added.
