Nally wants more
September 04, 2008
Mayo minor captain Shane Nally was remaining grounded after the emphatic All-Ireland semi-final win over Kerry as the defender stressed that it would could for nothing if the lost the final.
The Connacht side face off against Tyrone in the decider and Nally knows that they will get a much tougher test against the Red Hand County than Kerry provided.
Mayo should have beaten Kerry the first day, but they made no mistake in the replay as they ran out winners by 3-13 to 1-9 to earn a place in the final.
"It's been a long summer and it's not over yet," said Nally. "We're going back to Croke Park and that's where every player wants to be. It's been our goal all year and now we're nearly there.
"This game will bring us on a lot. We know that the final will be tough but we'll look forward to it and be really up for it when it comes around, just like we were for this game."
