Cross aim to carry on

September 04, 2008
The senior football championship quarterfinals are down for decision this weekend as McHale Park host all four games in what is an exciting feast of football. On Saturday evening, Crossmolina and Breaffy kick off the action at 5pm. Breaffy have been in excellent form and they will need to be at their best against a Crossmolina side that are many people's favourites for the title. This will be followed by the meeting of Ballaghaderreen and Ballintubber at 6.30pm. The former will be strong favourites to advance here. The action resumes on Sunday as Charlestown and Castlebar Mitchels meet in what arguably is the tie of the round. Throw in here at 2pm and Charlestown may just shade it. The last of the quarterfinals sees Claremorris and Knockmore do battle at 3.30pm. Claremorris have looked the better side, but write Knockmore off at your peril, if there's a draw in any of the matches, this could be it.
