Players did everything for me - Counihan

September 01, 2008

Cork boss Conor Counihan
Following the conclusion to Cork footballers season on Sunday, manager Conor Counihan has lauded his players for their services since he took over in February of this year. Counihan was installed as Cork boss under controversial circumstances after a player strike saw short-term manager Teddy Holland vacate the post making way for his arrival. However, even at the end of Cork's rollercoaster season this year, Counihan refused to be drawn into any debate on whether the team's performance towards the end of the year, which saw them land a Munster title, justified their actions earlier in the New Year. Counihan said: "From my point of view, as far as I'm concerned they did everything for me and that's all I can ask, it's for others to answer the other questions."
