Dowd fingers Quirke as likely All-Star

Cork keeper Alan Quirke
Former Cavan 'keeper and goalkeeping coach Paul O'Dowd believes Cork netminder Alan Quirke is on the cusp of receiving an All-Star award this year.
Dowd also believes that the Army captain's military background has helped him become one of the country's top goalkeepers.
"Certainly the fitter you are the better as a goalkeeper - more alert and quick on your feet," said the former Cavan star.
"This season not a lot of goalkeepers have stood out, so you have to say Quirke is close to an All-Star. He is a consistent performer and an athlete."
