Donncha O'Connor will appear before the Central Hearings Committee tonight (Wednesday) to appeal the four-week suspension he received after Cork's draw with Kerry last Sunday at Croke Park. The Rebels attacker received a straight red card from referee Joe McQuillan in the second-half of Sunday's All-Ireland semi-final for lightly-slapping Kerry's Aidan O'Mahony's across the face, which saw the centre-back dramatically fall to the floor holding his face. On Monday the Central Competitions Control Committee handed down a month's ban to O'Connor, which includes the Rebel attacker to miss the next game, that being the replay this Sunday against the All-Ireland Champions. O'Connor will appear before the CHC tonight at Croke Park to appeal the ban on the grounds that that there was no force or intent on his part. Tweet
