Corduff Notes
August 26, 2008
Under 12 Final: We take on Doohamlet next Thursday evening in the final of the under 12. Thrown in is at 6.45 in Aughnamullen. All support is needed as these boys try to bring the first piece of silverware back to Corduff this year.
Intermediate Football League: We play Aughnamullen this Sunday in Corduff at 12.30.
Reserve Championship: Our semi final against Clontibret took place last night. See report next week.
Intermediate Football Championship: We took on Cremartin in the Championship last Sunday evening. Corduff went ahead early on thanks to some free taking from Mark Gilsenan in the 1st, 7th and 13th minute. The scores were level in the 23rd minute after Cremartin scored 3 unanswered points. A free won by Shane Mc Nally Jnr and converted by Mark Gilsenan in the 30th minute meant Corduff went in with the minimum of margins at half time. Half Time Score Corduff 0-04 Cremartin 0-03.
The sides were level again in the 5th minute before a brilliant worked goal from Louis King gave Corduff some breathing space. The two teams exchanged points in the closing stages and with some hard work from Shane Mc Nally Jnr, Ciaran Brennan and Gerry Mee Corduff stayed ahead for the remainder. Final Score Corduff 1-08 Cremartin 0-09.

Under 12 Jerseys appeal: Our under 12 team have reached a final and at the moment there is not enough jerseys for them to play in. So can all parents of our under 8, 10 and 12 players please check football bags, under beds and cars etc. As these players deserve to wear their own colors for the final.
Name Your Square: Our Name your Square signs are being erected in the next few weeks so it is last chance to purchase a square of our new playing pitches. There are still a few prime spaces left. Anyone interested please contact Eileen 087 1375735 or Maureen 086 8870262 as soon as possible
